Do not choose a Jeju hotel only because it lists an EV charger. For most itineraries, a well-located hotel with a verified overnight charging process is ideal; otherwise, a nearby public station that matches the rental car and payment method can be the safer plan. The decision depends on access, not the charger icon.
Make the rental contract the first check
Before choosing the stay, ask the rental company for the vehicle’s connector, any charging card or app supplied, accepted payment methods, and the battery condition required at return. These policies vary by company and vehicle. A hotel charger cannot solve a card, connector or return-rule mismatch.
Choose overnight charging for low-friction mornings

On-site charging is most useful after long driving days or before an early departure. Confirm that guests may reserve or queue for the space, whether the car can remain there after charging, and whether the garage is accessible after reception closes. “EV charging available” does not confirm availability, speed or compatibility.
Use public charging when location is better

South Korea’s official low-emission vehicle portal provides live station search, and Visit Jeju confirms that EV rentals are part of the island’s driving landscape. A public charger can therefore support a better hotel location, but check status again on the travel day and keep one backup near a meal or planned stop.
Parking design affects luggage and sleep
A charger at the far edge of a large car park can add an exposed walk with bags, while a basement bay may have height or access limits. Ask about the route from bay to lift. If charging is close to guest rooms, also check for vehicle movement, door alarms and delivery activity during quiet hours.
