Seoul Station Hotels for an Early KTX: Where to Stay the Night Before

If your train leaves before breakfast, the best hotel is not the one with the most dramatic skyline. It is the one that makes the platform feel close, even with a suitcase and a sleepy start.

Stay on the station side of the plan

For an early KTX, look first at the blocks immediately around Seoul Station and the connected pedestrian routes. The useful question is not simply walking time: it is whether you can reach the concourse without adding a taxi transfer, a steep hill, or an unfamiliar crossing before dawn.

Seoul Station works especially well when your next stop is Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, or another city on the KTX network. Keep the evening before simple: check the platform information, buy breakfast near the hotel, and leave enough margin for finding your carriage.

Three booking checks worth making

Check Why it matters
Walking route Map the hotel entrance to the station concourse, not just the pin-to-pin distance.
Early checkout Confirm the desk is staffed when you plan to leave.
Room side If sleep matters, ask about road or rail-facing rooms before booking.

Use the map before choosing

Open Seoul Station in Google Maps and test the route from each shortlist hotel at the time you expect to leave. For the rail timetable and station information, use Korail’s official site.

If your train is later and you want more restaurant choice, compare this with our guide to choosing where to stay in Seoul. For a two-night rail stop after arrival, see the Busan KTX guide.
