Where to Stay for the 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress

If you are attending the congress, choose your hotel area around the trips you will make most often. A useful first question is whether your days revolve around sessions or your arrival, departure, and time in the city.

Start with the event site

The official congress page lists October 19–23, 2026, at Gangneung Olympic Park. Its program may change. Before comparing rooms, identify the building and entrance you expect to use on your event days.

Put Olympic Park access first for full event days

If you will attend sessions repeatedly, look for a suitable stay with a route you can check from its exact property pin to your event entrance. A hotel described as being on the Olympic Park side of town is not automatically convenient for that entrance. Compare the whole trip, including any transfer, against your daily schedule.

Favor the station and downtown for rail plans

If KTX arrival, departure, or city errands shape your stay, compare properties around Gangneung Station and downtown. The Korea Tourism Organization rail guide identifies Gangneung on the KTX-Eum route, while its Jungang Market guide gives a concrete downtown reference. These landmarks do not establish how close a particular room is to either one. Check the property’s pin and its route to Olympic Park.

Choose Anmok for planned coast time

A companion with few sessions, or an attendee with substantial free time, may prefer a coastal base. The Gangneung Coffee Street guide places that area at Anmok. Treat it as a separate leisure choice and check the event trip before committing to it.
