Hwasun protects the first morning
Visit Jeju places the Route 10 start at Hwasun Golden Sand Beach. Staying nearby reduces the risk of spending the coolest walking hours on a transfer. It also suits a single-route day followed by rest. The compromise is at the finish: confirm the return bus or taxi plan to Hwasun before setting out, especially if daylight or weather may change the pace.
Moseulpo links two walking days
Route 10 ends at the Jeju Olle Information Center at Hamo Sports Park, and Visit Jeju lists the same park as the Route 11 start. That makes Moseulpo the stronger base for consecutive walking days or an easier post-walk return. It is less efficient for the Route 10 morning, so check the actual transfer to Hwasun rather than judging from a map alone.
Keep the suitcase off the trail
A point-to-point route becomes awkward when checkout and walking start on the same morning. Ask whether the hotel will hold a full-size bag until evening, and whether collection remains possible after your expected finish.
