Choose Centum City if the event controls two or more days, starts early, or requires carrying equipment. Choose Gwangalli if the programme occupies one main block and the coast is a real part of the weekend. The better base is the one that removes the trip’s most repeated friction.
Decide by event hours, not the sea view
For consecutive sessions, Centum protects time and energy. BEXCO’s official directions place Exhibition Center 1 about 50 metres from Centum City Station Exit 1 and about 100 metres from BEXCO Station Exit 7. Confirm which building and entrance your ticket names; Exhibition Center 2 involves a longer walk.
What Centum City protects

A nearby room reduces wet-weather exposure, crowded post-event transfers and the need to carry bags across the city. It also makes a midday reset realistic. The trade-off is atmosphere: if evenings by the water matter, the businesslike surroundings may feel more functional than memorable.
When Gwangalli earns the transfer

Visit Busan describes Gwangalli as a city beach with cafés, restaurants and an active night scene. Its access note gives a 13-minute walk from Gwangan Station Exit 5. That makes it a leisure-first base, not a venue-door base. Choose it when you will actually use the promenade before or after the event.
Luggage and sleep trade-offs
Beachfront convenience can mean road activity, late pedestrians or music. Ask for a room away from the main waterfront road, lifts and service areas; a high floor is not automatically quieter. In Centum, verify the walking route to the exact hall and whether it stays comfortable with a suitcase in rain.
Check before booking
- Match the hotel to the correct BEXCO building and entrance.
- Check the final session time against your onward train or flight.
- Ask for the quiet-room position, not only the view.
- Confirm baggage storage hours for arrival and departure day.
- Recheck Line 2 service and the event organiser’s access notice.
